What are your hours of operation?

We are open 6 am – 9 pm every day of the week.

Do you offer gift cards or gift certificates?

Yes, we offer gift cards in any denomination. They may be purchased online or at any of our 3 Kansas City locations (Riverside, Liberty or Independence) from any cashier, server or manager. They may be redeemed at any location also.

How do I check my gift card balance?

To check your card balance, you may go to the gift card link on the website and select the Check Gift Card Balance button or you may send the number on the back of the card to comments@thecornercafe.com and request your balance.

How is seating handled? Do you take reservations?

We operate on a first come, first serve basis for seating and routinely work with groups to try to get each party seated as efficiently as possible. If a party is large, sometimes guests send a member of their group a few minutes early to add their name to the waitlist. For groups over 20 people, a quick call to the manager on duty to provide a few hours’ notice will help us to be prepared with the proper levels of staff to serve your needs.

Do you offer carry-out, curbside service and delivery?

Our full menu is available for carry-out or curbside at all times. At this time, we do not offer delivery.

Group To Go Orders and Large Carry-outs

We appreciate you considering us for your group meal. Your group is always welcome to place individual carry out orders from the menu. Also, although we do not cater, we do often work with customers to provide bulk carry out orders. We have a menu of some of our popular bulk items and a bakery list which contains our selection of whole desserts and rolls by the dozen. Please call the closest store location and speak to a manager who can help you work through the details of your meal. And, if you’d like an item from the menu that’s not on the bulk list, just let us know and we can work up pricing on that as well.
For customers who need food served at an event, guests sometimes obtain a separate caterer who picks up bulk food from Corner Cafe and sets it up and serves it. We would be happy to work with the caterer of your choice to provide the food.

Do you offer nutritional information on your meals?

At this time, we do not have nutritional information available.

Do you offer a gluten free/allergen menu?

Although we do not have a specific gluten free menu, we are happy to work with our guests to see if we can meet their dietary needs. Many of our items can be ordered ala carte or without certain items. For example, our omelettes and many of our egg platters may be ordered without the bread option. On our salads, you may request no croutons and substitute grilled chicken for fried chicken. Our sandwiches may be ordered without bread or we’d be happy to provide some leaf lettuce for wrapping them (e.g. tuna salad). We have entrees such as grilled chicken breast, steak, liver & onions, etc that do not have breading or you may request an item to be grilled without breading (for example, pork chop). On more specific dietary restrictions, it would be best to confirm with a manager on duty so that we can verify through the recipes and ingredient labels.

Do you have private rooms for parties or meetings?

We do not have any rooms that are completely private, although depending on the day and time of your event, we might be able to dedicate part of a room or a whole room to your group. Please call the closest store location and speak to a manager who can see if we can help you with your group needs.

Banquet Style Pricing

During our less busy days and times, we often have groups visit us for meetings, presentations, parties or other special occasions. We offer a banquet menu which allows a meeting coordinator to select a couple of entrée choices which are served with green beans, mashed potatoes, a piece of cobbler and a drink. Check out our banquet price list for the available entrée options. Of course, your group is always welcome to order directly from the menu if you would prefer to offer your group members the ability to make their own meal selection.

Why are some items like biscuits and gravy and oatmeal only offered in the morning?

We strive for our food to be served as fresh as possible. As it gets later in the day, fewer customers order breakfast and so it is more difficult to keep those items fresh and to the quality level we desire.

May I order one of your daily special pies or cakes on a different day?

Certainly! Monday through Friday we make a special pie or cake of the day, however, we know that folks cannot always get to us on a certain day of the week for that special treat. If you’ll call the store location with about 24 hours’ notice and ask for a manager, we will be happy to make a specialty pie or cake just for you.

Are you open on holidays?

We are open for almost all holidays except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day when we are closed to allow our employees to celebrate with their families. We do close early on a few other holidays including Christmas Eve (3 pm), New Year’s Eve (8 pm) and July 4th (8 pm).

Can we pre-order baked goods for holidays?

Yes! Thank you for making our baked goods a part of your important meals. We offer pre-orders of our pies, rolls and other baked goods any time. During some holiday times such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, we do cut off pre-orders at a certain time to give our bakers enough time to freshly make all the orders. Call the location from where you’d like to pick up and they will be happy to take your order.

What can I do if I missed the holiday pre-order cut-off date?

After the cut-off date, we switch over to a first-come, first serve system. We keep making all of our normal pies and dinner rolls so it is likely, although not guaranteed, that we would have a specific pie available for you even though it wasn't pre-ordered.

Can I order holiday meals?

If you’d prefer that we do the cooking for your special meals, we offer bulk ordering of many of our meats and side dishes. We have a menu of some of our popular bulk meal items such as fried chicken, turkey, mashed potatoes and much more. Or, if you’d prefer, you can order an individual meal for each person. During holidays, our Turkey ‘n Dressing dinner is very popular.

How do I request a donation for my group or organization?

You may fill out and send in a Donation Request Form to provide information on the organization and the type of donation you are seeking. These are reviewed monthly by the General Manager at the store location.

Are you the same as Corner Bakery Cafe?

Although our names are very similar, we are not affiliated with Corner Bakery Cafe. We are a family business with 3 locations in the Kansas City, Missouri area.
